How Can I Get Involved

College Park is not a place for spectators. It’s a place where, together as a team, we develop relationships by getting involved in what God is doing within and without the church. No matter what age group you may fit in, 5 year old’s or 95 year old’s, there is a place for you to learn, grow, and serve in your walk with the Lord. We believe God calls His people to actively serve, and that everyone has been given at least one gift, and there is a place here in this church for you to exercise that gift. Because we take the safety of our children, youth, and young adults very seriously, those wishing to teach or lead in these areas must agree to a background check.

Children’s Ministry

According to Psalm 78 our children’s ministry has three goals.  We will tell the next generation of the glorious deeds of the Lord, so that each child will set his hope in God and not forget the works of God.  We desire for every child to know the life-changing power of the Gospel of Jesus.  We have many dedicated and loving teachers and helpers serving through out this ministry who have all been screened and trained to ensure the safety of every child in our care.

ESL (English As A Second Language) Ministry
On Wednesday nights we have “Conversation Cafe” where many are working with internationals, helping them learn English, using the Bible and Bible-based curriculum. This is an awesome opportunity to share the love of Jesus with peoples of the world.

Hospitality Ministry
We think of ourselves as a “family,” and “open-ended family.” The Bible’s invitation is “whosoever may come” and so we are always excited when new brothers and sisters are added to God’s family. As a family we love to spend time together and we love to eat.
However, there’s another side of “Hospitality.” We want ALL “first-timers” to feel at home and also feel the love of Jesus. For that reason we have Greeters at all the doors. They are an essential part of the ministry here at CPBC. They are the first family members
that our guests meet. We all know the importance of “first impressions.” These folks welcome, answer questions, give directions, encourage, and love on those who come whether that is for the first time or hundreds of times. It’s not a put on, but we hope it is seen as the true character of this church, and pictures the love of God.

Media Ministry

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. The video screens are and important tool that helps with the flow and participation in the services.  All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication. There many opportunities for you to use your talents in this area.

Mission Ministry

College Park has been actively involved in missions at home and abroad. We have served in areas such as Massachusetts, Montana, Maine, Oregon, and have been serving out of country in Honduras for the last five years. We have had as many as 5 mission opportunities in a year. Any and all of these opportunities are open to any one interested. You can check with the church office (675-7037), or one of the staff to see what opportunities are available.

Music Ministry
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Small Group Ministry
Within the family small groups play an important role. These may include book and Bible studies, Ladies’ groups, Men’s groups, Children’s groups, mission activity groups, prayer groups, and the list goes on. The entire church family cannot always be present,
but these small groups carry on the mission of the church just in smaller packages.  We believe small group participation is essential to discipleship and the growth of the body, so we look to get every member plugged into a small group where they can be known and cared for well.

Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that threshold into adulthood. There are many complex decisions to be made.  We desire to provide a place with in depth Bible study and discussion so the Bible informs those decisions.  Proclaiming the whole counsel of God is a must.  We offer a weekly small group for our young adults as well as striving to connect them weekly to an inter-generational group in order to provide Titus 2 discipleship relationships.

Youth Ministry
The goals for our youth ministry are very similar to those of our children’s ministry, but also realizing that our youth are confronted
daily with overwhelming issues that can make or break them. Our youth workers have a heart for this age group and a sincere desire to love and help them as they navigate challenges and pitfalls of becoming young adults. They too, because of their commitment, have gladly submitted to background checks.

Senior Adult Ministry

Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun (the aches and pain too). Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Senior Adult group of College Park  provides times of refreshing, and times of valuable interaction. We realize that God is not through with us yet. In fact, there is a wealth of ability and knowledge within this group. We want to keep ourselves useful and active. We love to travel and have logged many miles together. Come go with us!
